Marriott Pushes Their Marriott Mobile Requests App
Just in case you forgot, Marriott is re-campaigning their Marriott Mobile Requests app via email. If you don’t remember, this service was officially launched in Times Square back in May of this year with a small army of bellhops in red coats passing out gift cards and brilliantly promoting #AppYourService.
To celebrate the launch of Mobile Request, Marriott Hotels is literally bringing its app to life with its #AppYourService stunt in New York City tomorrow. Marriott Hotels is building a command center, a branded, open-air pod in Times Square to monitor all social engagement surrounding the stunt. Powered by Tickr with social data from Sysomos, the Marriott Hotels command center will showcase an unmatched, real-time visualization of #AppYourService usage, enabling Marriott to listen and engage with consumers.
As great as this marketing endeavor was, just like all things, came to an end and everyone went back to work once the party was over. Who remembers MobileSuites? They tried, but sadly, didn’t get the feedback they needed.
Marriott is giving their Marriott Mobile Requests App another go. I’m not sure who this is targeted to, maybe just Elites who can take advantage of the select JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® and Marriott® hotels around the world that are compatible with the app. I’m not sure if they plan on rolling this out to more Marriott brands, but I think the more, the merrier. Of course the level of service varies greatly when you say JW Marriott and Fairfield Inn and Suites in the same sentence. There’s just no way around it. That said, it would be quite the experiment to expand their audience and see how it goes. Too many requests? Too many crazy or impossible requests? Hmm.
For example, when I moved some stuff from Orlando to Nashville, I took a moving truck and it was a pain to park the moving truck at the Courtyard in Macon, GA. Maybe the Marriott Mobile Requests app would have been just the thing I need. That, or they could ask what type of vehicle you will be arriving in (if any).
Try It Out!
The next time you are staying in one of the participating properties, let me know. I’m interested to see how it goes. Comments are welcomed.
